“I am a solo practicing dentist who was seeking a warm caring individual to assist me with patients and at the front desk. I found these qualities in an individual named Sharon. Sharon has learned many new skills throu8gh her eagerness to learn. Sharon relates well to many patients, it is her abilities that shine through rather than her disability.”

“Geico hires and promotes individuals on the basis of their qualifications. We provide a work environment in which each associate is able to be productive. We do it because it's the right thing to do and because it makes us a better company. I cannot tell you how many people at Geico have disabilities, but over the years we have hired too many to mention. All of our associates are integrated into our workforce.”

“Hiring the right person for a job is very difficult. After being involved in recruitment for many years I have come to the determination that we all have “disabilities” and personal challenges that we bring into the workplace. People that have been recruited through VESID or similar organizations just happen to have disabilities and challenges that are openly apparent during the interview process.”
“BPA has found that these types of challenges tend to be straightforward and fairly easily overcome with some innovation and tenacity in the early stages of employment. Once this stage has been completed we have found that we are left with a highly motivated team member that perhaps has a greater value for their position because it has not been easily found.”

“Our law firm's experience working with individuals with disabilities has been tremendous. It has been the ultimate 'win-win' situation, as we are giving people opportunities, while at the same time we are getting some terrific workers. Our long-standing partnership with the staff at VESID is an invaluable relationship that we treasure. Any company that fails to recruit and employ individuals with disabilities is making a huge mistake, and missing out on opportunities to help some truly wonderful people."
