National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

Each year in October, the Board of Regents and the Governor recognize individuals with disabilities and their contributions to the New York State economy. Statewide, regional and local awards are annually presented to selected businesses in recognition of their outstanding contributions advancing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. On Long Island this event has been celebrated since 1987.
