The Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC) has been providing vocational rehabilitation services to Nassau County individuals with a history of substance abuse since 1978. The goal of the program is to assist these clients in getting back into the workforce as part of their overall treatment plan. EAC’s Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselors provide this service at the drug treatment agency sites whenever possible. Counselors assist clients in developing vocational plans based on some of the following: educational/vocational history, medical, legal and drug assessment, family background, values, expressed interest, motivation, vocational test information and job readiness activities.
